This pattern is designed for elastic yarn and getting to the gauge with non-elastic yarn might need adjustments. Alice Diva Stretch works the best.
Skill level: ADVANCED! You should have sewing skills to line this bikini! You should know the basic stiches: chain stitch, single crochet, slip stitch, double crochet. All the other sticthes used in the pattern are explained.
This pattern is written in English, standard American terms and includes many photos of the process.
Pattern includes instructions for the following sizes XS, S, M, L, XL. Also instructions to add lining for both pieces and to make the ties for the top and also how to crochet elastic band inside the stithes of the waist for the bottom.
Materials needed:
Top>>> Yarn: 150(170,200,230,260) meters/ 164(186,218,250,284) yards of Super fine/1 or Fine/2 (sport/baby) weight stretchy yarn (counted with Alize Diva Stretch). Stretchy yarn recommended. The tops in the pictures are made with Alize Diva Stretch (92% Microfiber, 8% Elastic)> 100g=400m/3.52oz=438yards (this is the best yarn option for bikinis). Other yarn suggestion for example: Himalaya Celinda Stretch (with smaller hook, result will be slightly thicker). If you are not using elastic yarn, can be challenging to the get into the gauge and the result may be not as comfy as with stretchy yarn.
Crochet hook: 2mm-2.5mm/4-C, or any size to obtain the gauge!
Fabric to line and ties approximately 40cm/16”. Lightweight, elastic bathingsuit material for example spandex or Lycra.
Bottom>>> Yarn: 122(134,146,158,170) meters / 134(146,160,172,186) yards of Super fine/1 or Fine/2 (sport/baby) weight stretchy yarn (counted with Alize Diva Stretch). Stretchy yarn recommended. The bottoms in the pictures are made with Alize Diva Stretch (92% Microfiber, 8% Elastic)> 100g=400m/3.52oz=438yards (this is the best yarn option for bikinis). Other yarn suggestion for example: Himalaya Celinda Stretch (with smaller hook, result will be slightly thicker).
