About
Welcome to my world of crochet
Handicrafts have always been part of my life. I learned crochet and knitting as a child, but theres was a period, when I was doing more sewing and other things, than crochet or knitting. Around 17 years ago I really got hooked again with crochet. I like small project, that can be preferably finished in one day since following day usually brings new ideas and projects:)
Now I have been making few years DYI crochet patterns in Etsy as Capitana Uncino.
I have over 10 years of experience of making crochet bikinis and before that, I was sewing bikinis from fabric and selling them on markets.
First bikinis I made for myself with cotton yarn and off course they weren't the most practical or comfortable to wear, but yes I was wearing them a long time! Since then the quality of crochet bikinis have improved a lot and nowadays, there is excellent materials available and off course I have lot more experience on making bikinis.
My crochet bikinis are made with good quality elastic yarn and lined with lycra. They are durable and work well in demanding conditions, when taken care the right way. You can use your crochet bikinis as the "normal" fabric bikinis.
I recommend to wash properly after every use and dry in shady place. Squeeze to dry inside a towel for example and don't wring. Lay flat to dry. For best results, wash your swimsuit by hand and use a detergent specifically designed for delicates or high spandex-content fabrics. Don’t put a swimsuit in the dryer. The heat weakens the elasticity of the spandex. This is the same reason why you shouldn’t wear your favorite bikini in a Jacuzzi.
